Shayn Stavens, M.S., M.I.S.

I have been interested in fitness, health, and dietary supplements for over 15 years. I am an avid weight lifter and I love to share my enthusiasm for weight training and exercise with everyone.   My passion is learning how nutrition impacts our bodies and how through proper exercise and eating we can maximize our health, happiness, confidence, performance and longevity.

My approach to Nutrition Therapy and Coaching is to meet people where they are at. At different points in my life, I have been very overweight and clinically depressed. I understand the challenges that people face in regard to taking control of their own health and well-being. My goal is to be a partner to you as you realize your goals and to be the champion for you and your success until you are the champion for yourself.

I received a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and went on to graduate school at the University of Utah where I initially studied Exercise Physiology. While studying Exercise Physiology, I also took classes in the Food and Nutrition Department. It didn’t take me long to realize that my passion was actually more aligned with nutrition and how food impacts health and wellness. I transferred to the Food and Nutrition Department after my first year in the Exercise and Sport Science Program. As part of the program, I completed internships at the Utah Diabetes and Endocrinology Center, W.I.C., University Neuropsychiatric Institute, and the University of Utah Hospital.

Upon graduation, I went on to work for a small dietary supplement company developing and formulating many different types of supplements.
