| About Us Elena Estanol Ph.D., M.F.A.
Dr. Estanol is a licensed psychologist and sport psychologist in Fort Collins, CO with over 12 years of experience. I am the founder and Clinical Director of Synapse Counseling LLC. I specialize in providing therapy for eating disorders, GLBT issues, sport psychology, anxiety management, ADHD, Spanish-Speaking populations, life transitions, relationship issues, grief and loss, and personal growth, among others. I strive to create a warm and comfortable atmosphere where we can explore your concerns and be gently challenged to try new behaviors. I am ative and engaged in the therapeutic process and work collaboratively with you to enhance your awareness of maladaptive patterns that keep you stuck, so you can make the changes to achieve the life you want and deserve. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, teens, adolescents, and adults. APPROACH TO THERAPY AND COACHING: I have an integrative and strengths-based approach to helping individuals. I believe that you already have many skills and abilities that have enabled you to succeed in the past and my role is to help you recognize and use your strengths in order to overcome your current challenges. I bring authenticity, warmth, humor and compassion to my work and strive to create a safe environment where we can explore your concerns and be gently challenged to try new behaviors. I work collaboratively with each person to provide an individualized approach tailored to who you are, your goals, life experience and current concerns. You can trust that I will provide you with expert, gentle and honest feedback about your current situation and how you can avoid repeating maladaptive patterns. I draw from positive psychology, sport psychology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), feminist psychotherapy, interpersonal (IPT) and existential psychotherapy principles to help you find your purpose and meaning in life, recognize and change behavior patterns that keep you stuck, and utilize your individual strengths to develop more adaptive coping strategies to help you achieve your true potential as a human being. CLINICAL EXPERIENCE: My previous clinical experience includes providing therapy at a university counseling center, providing psychological services in a middle school, a residential treatment center for eating disorders (adolescents), a court-appointed private practice (children), providing behavioral health interventions in a hospital, and employed as a psychologist for the CSU Health Network providing mental health services for college-aged students and sport psychology services to Division I athletes.I also served as the liaison to the GLBT office and El Centro on campus. | Adam Sargent M.S. Adam is a psychotherapist in Fort Collins, CO and independent contractor for Synapse Counseling LLC, trained in a wide range of specialty areas. I specialize in Depression, Anxiety, GLBT Issues, Men’s Issues, Life Transitions, Self-Esteem, and Spirituality Issues among others. I work hard to understand the issues that you are facing and any variables that make your situation unique. I have a non-judgmental compassionate style that allows our interactions to feel comfortable and supportive. I enjoy working with people from all backgrounds and I work well with individuals, couples, adults, children, and adolescents. APPROACH TO THERAPY AND COACHING: I have a Cognitive Behavioral and Interpersonal approach to therapy. Prior clients have described me as an open, honest man that has a gentle, accepting style of interacting with others. I believe this personality style allows me to truly understand you and the issues that you are facing. I believe that when most people seek therapy, they do it to get something different that they are not getting from friends and family. CLINICAL EXPERIENCE: My prior clinical experience includes individual, couples, family, and group therapy in a variety of settings. I have worked at CSU’s Health Network in General Services as well as Behavioral Health. I have also worked as a staff therapist at a Fort Collins community clinic as well as a long-term care facility with older adults. I have served as the liaison to the GLBT center on campus and served as a member of CSU’s Autism/Asperger’s spectrum disorder team. Kimberly Beck M.Ed.,NCC
Kimberly is a psychotherapist and brief counselor in Ft. Collins and Longmont, and a contract counselor for Synapse Counseling, LLC. Although trained as a generalist, I have great interest and experience in guiding people through personal and societal grief, chronic illness, anxiety and fear, self-esteem and body image dissatisfaction, life transitions, relationships, and spirituality issues/explorations. I have a down-to-earth, non-judgmental presence and create a warm environment where I invite you to examine difficult emotions, circumstances, impulses and behaviors with curiosity rather than judgment. I provide honest feedback, support, and challenge to encourage you to make positive changes in your path to clarity, self-trust, and a life of purpose. APPROACH TO THERAPY AND COACHING: Our relationship will begin with us both listening generously to your presenting concern. We will explore how your concern extends to the intrapersonal, familial, social and natural communities in which you participate. Together we will also look beyond the target issues to your strengths, resiliency and potential for wholeness - despite your issues. My therapeutic approaches in this journey may include Mindfulness-based therapies, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Eco- therapy, and Internal Family Systems. CLINICAL EXPERIENCE: I received a Master’s degree in Counseling & Career Development and am a Nationally Certified Counselor pursuing licensure. After completing my clinical internship at Colorado State University’s Counseling Center, I rejoined the Center as a contract clinician working with individuals and groups.
